JT5 Starter Guide: Your First Session

Get into JT5, ask your boardroom its first real question, and turn the answer into this week's plan.

Welcome to JT5, your boardroom inside CoreBrain.

You ask one question. Up to three brains weigh in, one after another, each from its own expertise. Then the Team consensus turns their views into one recommendation: what to do, and why.

JT1 stays exactly as it is, with all your chats. JT5 is its own hub right next to it. Keep using JT1 the way you always have, and bring the decisions that matter to JT5.

This guide takes you from login to a real answer on a real decision in your first session. Then it hands you the plan for the weeks after.

Part 1: Core Concepts

JT5 gives you two ways to ask. You'll find both under the message box when you start a new chat. The third button next to them, Your Brain or Get AI Yourself, is for AI Yourself, which is separate from JT5. Once the chat is going, they move inside the message box, next to the mic.

In a running chat, the AutoPilot AI and JT5 Boardroom icons sit inside the message box, left of the mic

AutoPilot AI: one brain answers. AutoPilot AI picks the best brain for your question, or you pick the brain yourself. Use it for quick answers, rewrites, and for building out a full plan with one expert.

JT5 Boardroom: the table answers. Choose Auto and JT5 picks the best 3 brains for your question, or tick up to 3 brains yourself. Want a specific brain at the table? With Auto on, type @ and the brain's full name in your question, exactly as it shows in the list, such as @Brutal Honest Brain. No list pops up as you type. JT5 reads the name when you send. Use the boardroom for decisions that are big, costly or hard to undo.

The Team consensus. In the boardroom, the brains at the table answer one after another. When the last one finishes, the Team consensus pulls their views together into one recommendation.

Two ways to read it. Tabbed puts the Team consensus first, then one tab per brain. Chat stream shows every brain in order, then the Team consensus. Switch between them at the top of the answer.

Part 2: Get In

  1. Go to https://app.corebrain.ai/auth/login and log in with your JT1 email and password, then click Sign in.

  2. Open the hub picker at the top left of the screen. Type JT5 in the search box at the top of the list to find it fast.

  3. Choose JT5. You're in when the new chat reads Ask your JT5 Team.

The hub picker open at the top left, with JT5 typed in the search box and the JT5 row showing

Don't see JT5? Log out and back in, or reload the page, then open the hub picker again. Still missing? Click the help icon at the top right, choose Support, click Ask a question or Send us a message, whichever you see, and send us the email you used to buy.

Part 3: Your First Boardroom Question

Let's get you a real result on a real decision, right now.

  1. Start a new chat in JT5.

  2. Click JT5 Boardroom under the message box.

  3. Choose Auto, and JT5 picks the best 3 brains for your question.

  4. Paste the command below, fill in the brackets with your real situation, and send.

The JT5 Boardroom menu with Auto at the top and up to 3 brains to tick

Try this Command: "I run a [describe your business]. The decision I keep putting off is [____]. What should I do, and why? Here's where things stand: [revenue, team, what's working, what isn't]."

Prefer to talk? Click the mic, say your question, then click the mic again to stop. Your words appear in the message box. Check them, then send. The first time, your browser asks to use your mic. Allow it.

The brains answer one after another, so give it a minute or two. Then read the answer in this order:

  • Read the Team consensus first. It is the one recommendation, built from every brain at the table.

  • Then read where the brains disagree. Switch to Tabbed or Chat stream and read each brain's view. Look hardest where they split. That is where the real decision usually sits.

Keep your "where things stand" lines. Save them in a note. They become your business snapshot for The JT5 Boardroom Plan.

Part 4: Decide in the Boardroom, Build With One Brain

The boardroom tells you what to do and why. One brain builds the plan. Do it right in the same chat:

  1. In the same chat, click the AutoPilot AI icon inside the message box (the left of the two icons by the mic). Type COO in Search brains and pick COO (How To Brain).

  2. If it shows Upgrade required, clear the search box, then pick another brain, or pick AutoPilot AI at the top of the list.

  3. Ask for the plan. It builds on the Team consensus, so there is nothing to paste.

Inside a running chat, the AutoPilot AI icon open with COO typed in Search brains and COO (How To Brain) in the list

Try this Command: "Turn the Team consensus into a 5 step plan for this week."

Want it on paper? Click the print icon under the answer.

For the full six-step workflow, read Decide in the Boardroom, Build With One Brain.

Part 5: Pro-Level Tips

1. Give real context. Your business, your customers, your goal and your deadline. The more real detail you give, the sharper the answer.

2. One decision per question. Ask two things at once and you get two half answers. Ask one, read the Team consensus, then ask the next.

3. Set the format. End your command with the shape you want the answer in.

Try this Command: "...in 5 bullet points." or "...in under 100 words."

4. Build on the answer. Don't start over. Push the answer you have further.

Try this Command: "Good. Now expand on point 3."

5. Attach only what the question needs. Every brain at the table reads your files, so give them the one file that matters, not the whole folder. See How to Attach Files, Print and Make a PDF in JT5.

6. New topic, new chat. Think of each chat as one whiteboard. A chat that jumps between subjects gets cluttered. Start a new chat for each topic, and use Rename in the chat's three dots so you can find it later.

7. Run a lens right after an answer that matters. As soon as an answer finishes, Try a lens appears right under it. Pick a thinking method, such as Pre-mortem Analysis for a plan, and JT5 sharpens the answer. A lens counts toward your usage like a question, so save it for the answers that matter. See How to Use Try a Lens in JT5.

Part 6: Your Mandate

You now know everything you need for your first session. The rest is repetition.

Start The JT5 Boardroom Plan. It is the 75 commands from JT's Masterclass, asked to your boardroom as 15 Plan Days, about one section a week. Open The JT5 Boardroom Plan: 75 Commands From JT's Masterclass and start Day 1.

Then keep a Monday boardroom. Every Monday, start a new chat, choose JT5 Boardroom and Auto, paste your business snapshot, and ask command 71:

Try this Command: "What matters in the next 7 days only? Give me the short list."

One decision a week, made with the whole table. Your boardroom is ready. Now, execute.
