JT5 Brains Explained: Expert Guide

Every brain in JT5, what each one is best at, when to use it, and a command to try.

This guide goes beyond names. It shows you what each brain in JT5 is best at, when to put it to work, and a command to try. New to JT5? Start with the JT5 Starter Guide: Your First Session.

Two Ways to Ask

  1. AutoPilot AI gives you one brain. It picks the best brain for your question, or you pick the brain yourself from the list. Every brain in this guide can answer in AutoPilot AI.

  2. JT5 Boardroom puts up to 3 brains at the table and adds a Team consensus that turns their views into one recommendation. Choose Auto and JT5 picks the best 3, or tick up to 3 yourself. On Auto, you can also type @ and a brain's full name, exactly as it shows in the list, to bring it to the table. No list pops up as you type.

Important: if you pick a brain that isn't open on your login, a message pops up: "Upgrade required. Upgrade your subscription to access this brain." If you see it, pick another brain, or let JT5 choose: Auto in JT5 Boardroom, AutoPilot AI in AutoPilot AI.

Examples marked with a command number are from the 75 commands from JT's Masterclass. Fill in the brackets with your own details.

Key Takeaway: Decide, Sharpen, Build, Check

Never settle for one opinion. In JT1 you switched brains one at a time to get every angle. In JT5 the table gives you the first round in one answer. Then finish the job in four moves:

  1. Ask on Auto. Put your decision to the JT5 Boardroom and let Auto pick the best 3 brains.

  2. Sharpen with a lens. Right after the Team consensus finishes, click Try a lens and pick a thinking method.

  3. Build with one brain. In the same chat, click the AutoPilot AI icon inside the message box (the left of the two icons by the mic), pick COO (How To Brain), and turn the Team consensus into a plan.

  4. Take the final check to Brutal Honest Brain. In the same chat, click the same icon again (the left of the two by the mic), pick Brutal Honest Brain, and ask: "Identify the three specific assumptions in this plan most likely to fail in the real world and tell me why."

Four moves, and every angle of the decision is covered before you act.
