How to Bring a JT1 Chat Into JT5

Copy a JT1 chat into JT5 and put the boardroom to work on a plan you already started.

Put the boardroom to work on a plan you already started in JT1.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open your JT1 hub. Open the hub picker at the top left and choose your JT1 hub, for example JT1-Business.

Step 2: Find the chat. In your chat list, click the three dots next to the chat you want.

Step 3: Choose Open in JT5. JT5 makes a copy of the chat and opens it for you straight away. The copy shows Continued from JT1 at the top, with a View original link back to your JT1 chat.

Step 4: Ask the boardroom. In the copy, JT5 Boardroom is the people icon inside the message box, left of the mic. Click it, choose Auto, and ask a question that names what you want reviewed. Write the plan or decision into the question itself, so every brain has it in front of them. For example, command 61 from the 75 commands from JT's Masterclass. Replace the blank with your decision before you send it:

"Pressure test this decision: [____]. List blind spots, risks, and assumptions."

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does my JT1 chat change? Its messages stay as they are. The chat now shows "This chat continues in JT5. New messages you send here won't show up there." and gets an In JT5 tag in your chat list.

  • Will new JT1 messages carry over? No. It is a one-time copy, so anything new you add in JT1 stays in JT1.

  • How do I get back to the copy? The same menu in JT1 now says Go to JT5 chat. You can also click Go to JT5 chat on the banner in the JT1 chat.

  • Don't see Open in JT5? It only appears once JT5 is on for your login. Log out and back in. If it's still missing, click the help icon at the top right, choose Support, click Ask a question or Send us a message, whichever you see, and send the email you used to buy.
